Responsibilities

• Ensure the seamless performance of motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), switchgear, substations, and other critical electrical components.
• Handle day-to-day troubleshooting activities, address grounding issues, and maintain system integrity and safety.
• Perform root cause failure analyses (RCFAs) for equipment failures and participate in incident investigations.
• Lead and support capital design projects, including the replacement of obsolete electrical equipment.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop equipment strategies aimed at enhancing reliability and minimizing downtime.
• Stay up-to-date with industry codes, standards, and OSHA requirements to ensure all electrical engineering activities meet compliance.
• Apply knowledge in Process Safety Management (PSM) to comply with specific applicable codes and requirements in PSM-covered facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Hands-on experience with motors, VFDs, switchgear, substations, preventive maintenance (PM) programs, load calculations, and relay settings.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues effectively.
• Skilled in performing root cause failure analyses (RCFAs) and participating in incident investigations.
• Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) and understanding of related codes and requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively across teams and departments.
