About the position

Actalent, an award-winning architecture and engineering firm, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role involves coordinating with various disciplines and working collaboratively in a team environment to ensure project success. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for conducting field investigations as necessary, producing detailed field reports accompanied by sketches that accurately reflect the findings. The position requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to established schedules and budgets, showcasing the candidate's organizational and time management skills. The Electrical Engineer will work on a diverse range of project types, scales, and complexities, particularly in sectors such as heavy industry, metals, chemical/petrochemical, and environmental projects. Key responsibilities include sizing breakers and starters, conduit and cable sizing, and developing 2-D orthographic design drawings as well as single line and network diagrams. The role also involves meeting with clients to discuss project requirements and expectations, and reviewing electrical systems installations during construction to ensure compliance with the construction documents. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with other disciplines and work in a team environment
  • Conduct field investigations when needed and produce field reports with detailed sketches
  • Perform duties on multiple projects within established schedules and budgets
  • Work on a wide variety of project types, scales, and complexity
  • Size breakers and starters
  • Size conduits and cables
  • Develop 2-D orthographic design drawings
  • Develop single line and network diagrams
  • Meet with clients to discuss project requirements
  • Review electrical systems installation during construction for compliance with construction documents

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant work experience in the industrial sector
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of NEC, IEC, ISA & IEEE design complying with industry standards is a plus
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit skills preferred, but not mandatory
  • Arc-flash study experience is a plus
  • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites
