About the position

The Electrical Engineer at Tri-Tronics Co. Inc. is responsible for the electrical and firmware design of industrial and commercial photoelectric products, overseeing the entire process from design phase to production launch. This role involves translating specifications into high-quality designs and developing prototypes to explore product ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for electrical and firmware design of photoelectric products from design to production.
  • Conduct analog design for amplifying, filtering, and switching small signals.
  • Design high-current pulse drive circuits for LEDs and control circuits for lasers.
  • Implement communication protocols including RS-232/485, CAN, Ethernet, and IO-Link.
  • Design linear and switching power supplies for low-current applications.
  • Develop variable frequency drive motor designs for induction motors.
  • Create electrical system designs for front of store applications.
  • Design PCBs with multilayer rigid flex and flex-rigid construction, coordinating with mechanical engineering.
  • Select and test new components for designs.
  • Develop and test firmware for embedded systems.
  • Negotiate pricing with vendors.
  • Use lab test equipment to verify design functionality.
  • Ensure CE compliance and address non-compliance issues.
  • Build and test prototypes to verify design concepts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience in firmware development.
  • Strong analytical decision-making and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to anticipate design flaws before they become problems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
