About the position

As an Electrical Engineer at Actalent, you will play a crucial role in developing the basis of design and coordinating electrical elements to support process design. Your responsibilities will include directing the design team, preparing detailed drawings and specifications, and providing essential support during the construction phase of various projects. You will be expected to deliver electrical engineering support that aligns with the long-term goal of enhancing ASME services across a broader range of projects. This position will also involve working on a diverse array of infrastructure projects, particularly those serving municipal needs, such as water and wastewater treatment facilities, including the associated physical buildings. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in low and medium voltage industrial distribution to ensure that all electrical designs meet the necessary standards and specifications. You will be responsible for the preparation and review of electrical schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and single line drawings. Additionally, you will provide on-site support during project construction, which includes testing, system startup, and troubleshooting. Your experience in preparing procurement specifications for electrical distribution and control equipment will be vital to the success of the projects you oversee. A firm understanding of the National Electric Code (NFPA 70), particularly Article 500 concerning Hazardous (Classified) Locations, is essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the basis of design and coordinate electrical elements in support of process design.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related degree from a US accredited institution.
  • 6+ years of professional, post-graduate experience working on building projects (excluding internship experience).
  • Expertise with low and medium voltage industrial distribution.
  • EIT Certification required; PE preferred.
  • Experience in preparation and review of electrical schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and single line drawings.
  • Experience in providing support for project construction, including on-site testing, system startup, and troubleshooting.
  • Firm working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NFPA 70), including Article 500-Hazardous (Classified) Locations.
