About the position

The Electrical Engineer at S&B Infrastructure is responsible for developing electrical systems for marine vessels and floating structures. This role involves performing necessary calculations to assist in the design and fabrication of such vessels, ensuring compliance with various regulations. Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical systems for marine vessels and floating structures.
  • Perform calculations necessary for the design and fabrication of marine vessels.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
  • Independently perform conventional engineering tasks and complex engineering work with supervision.
  • Work with conflicting design requirements and coordinate with related specialties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience for Junior level or 10+ years for Senior level position.
  • Knowledge in electrical distribution system design, arrangements, component selection, and tradeoff analysis.
  • Familiarity with IEC, NEC, IEEE, ABS, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO regulations is preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, EZpower, ETAP, MATLAB software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience related to marine vessels such as oceangoing vessels, patrol vessels, offshore support vessels, research vessels, tugs, and barges.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
