About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Wacker Polysilicon North America LLC involves performing a variety of electrical and automation engineering tasks aimed at maintaining and improving the performance of chemical production units in the fumed silica department. The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering counterparts to ensure safe operations, regulatory compliance, and the efficiency of production units.

Responsibilities

  • Support and cooperate with Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) Engineering counterparts to ensure safe operating conditions and regulatory compliance.
  • Maximize the availability of production units at required capacity and quality.
  • Support and maintain instrumentation and automation for production units.
  • Consult and support capital projects executed by project engineering.
  • Support process and technology transfer between WACKER HDK production sites.
  • Assist the engineering team on capital investment and expense type projects within the area of responsibility.
  • Conduct or coordinate debottlenecking and troubleshooting activities.
  • Become an expert in Electrical & Instrumentation engineering judgment related to assigned subject matters.
  • Drive and support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost.
  • Support the development of specifications, standards, and codes.
  • Develop and support preventative maintenance plans such as ITPMs.
  • Cooperate with various groups and individuals within Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and other service units to achieve optimal results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in electrical and automation engineering within a chemical production environment.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation and automation systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and engineering judgment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with capital project execution.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in chemical production.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
