About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Actalent involves designing and developing motor control and test systems, with a focus on electrical systems engineering. The role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for 2-3 days of remote work each week, and is based in Franksville, Wisconsin. The engineer will be responsible for creating electrical schematics, verifying component conformance, and performing various calculations to ensure optimal design and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Design motor control and test system solutions, including creation of Power Distribution Diagrams, Network Distribution Diagrams, and Electrical schematics.
• Develop electrical and mechanical drawing packages for industrial motor control and battery testing/simulation systems optimized for size and ease of manufacturing.
• Verify conformance of components and systems to customer specifications.
• Complete load, voltage, amperage, and heat calculations to ensure proper design.
• Create system bill of materials.
• Work with Purchasing and Vendors to evaluate alternate components.

Requirements

• BSEE or Engineering Degree in Electrical Field
• 3+ years specifying components and systems used in electrical designs for applications involving power electronics and/or voltages of up to 460 or higher
• Experience with design of motor control and test systems.
