About the position

Central Power Systems & Services is seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering department. This full-time position is based in Riverside, MO, and reports directly to the VP of Engineering. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, documentation, and troubleshooting of electrical control, signaling, and power circuits for the manufacture of generators and similar industrial power units, adhering to NEC and UL standards. In addition to electrical systems, you will also have the opportunity to design and evaluate mechanical systems that support or integrate with electrical systems. This position requires a hands-on approach, utilizing software tools such as AutoCad Electrical and Inventor Professional to facilitate engineering design for production. In this role, you will collaborate closely with production teams, customers, and sales teams to ensure that products are completed to the highest quality standards and delivered in a timely manner. You will be involved in strategic business development, developing projects from conceptual design to full manufacturing capability, and promoting engine sales to other manufacturers. Responsibilities

  • Design, document, and troubleshoot electrical control, signaling, and power circuits for generators and similar industrial power units according to NEC and UL standards.
  • Design and evaluate mechanical systems in support of electrical systems.
  • Utilize AutoCad Electrical and Inventor Professional for engineering design.
  • Support production in fabrication and machining, estimating, and procurement.
  • Engage in strategic business development activities.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales teams, and production teams to ensure high-quality product completion.
  • Develop projects from conceptual design to full manufacturing capability.
  • Promote and develop engine sales to other manufacturers.
  • Generate ideas for new products to manufacture.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with electrical design and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad Electrical and Inventor Professional software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and creativity in engineering design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-haves
