About the position

As an Electrical Engineer at Honeywell Building Automation (BA), you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and components specifically tailored for building control and optimization. This position requires a collaborative approach, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects and the delivery of high-quality, energy-efficient solutions. Your technical expertise and innovative mindset will be essential in advancing building automation technologies, contributing to the development and implementation of systems that enhance safety, energy efficiency, and productivity in buildings. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying the functional performance of Building Automation Systems (BAS) to ensure they operate according to contract requirements. This includes testing and calibrating system and peripheral device operations as per a preventative maintenance schedule. You will also be tasked with documenting all work performed, including readings, offsets, and overrides, while monitoring alarms in the BAS, initiating work orders, and ordering materials for repairs. Additionally, you will maintain customer system documentation, respond to emergency service calls, and provide technical support and guidance to project teams. Your contributions will not only impact the technical aspects of building automation but also play a crucial role in creating sustainable and comfortable environments for building owners and occupants. Responsibilities

  • Verify Building Automation System (BAS) functional performance to ensure proper operations according to contract requirements including testing and calibrating system and peripheral device operations as per preventative maintenance schedule
  • Complete documentation of all work done, including all readings, offsets, overrides, etc.
  • Monitor alarms in the Building Automation System, initiate work orders, and order materials to make repairs
  • Maintain customer system documentation with any configuration or model changes
  • Respond to emergency service calls as required
  • Design and develop electrical systems and components for building automation solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Conduct testing and validation of electrical systems
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, practices, and standards
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools
  • 5+ years of experience in Building Automation Systems, HVAC, or instrumentation
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Automated Logic, Niagara, or Distech
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
