About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at the Department of the Air Force is a permanent, full-time role responsible for managing and planning major facility projects. The incumbent will apply advanced electrical engineering principles to ensure the reliability and sustainability of mission operations. This role involves project management from inception to completion, integrating various engineering disciplines, and providing professional electrical engineering design services.

Responsibilities

• Manage major facility projects from inception to completion, ensuring integration of all engineering and design disciplines.
• Translate raw mission requirements into executable facility programs and projects, including schedules, cost estimates, and contract documents.
• Provide professional electrical engineering design services, including integrated project schedules and construction documents.
• Advise on the maintenance of mission electrical and facility systems to ensure reliability and sustainability.
• Prepare and present reports, justifications, and briefings for senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Professional knowledge of electrical engineering principles, planning, design, and maintenance applications.
• Experience with building codes and their application in facility projects.
• Proficiency in software for Computer-Aided Design (CAD), project scheduling, and electronic communications.
