About The Position
The Electrical Test Technician/Engineer position in Katy, TX, involves a critical role in ensuring the quality and functionality of electrical units through rigorous testing and inspection processes. The technician will be responsible for visually inspecting all units prior to power testing, performing production line acceptance testing, and utilizing both manual and automated test equipment. This role requires a strong foundation in troubleshooting techniques, enabling the technician to identify and resolve issues that arise during testing. The technician will work closely with a diverse team, contributing to a collaborative environment while adhering to company safety standards. In this position, the technician will conduct various tests, including insulation tests and function tests, and will be expected to work from detailed instructions, drawings, and procedures. Accurate recording of test results and completion of necessary paperwork is essential, as is the ability to report any issues found on failed units. The role may also involve some mechanical assembly tasks, requiring the technician to handle large gauge cables and lift weights of up to 40 lbs on occasion. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and ensure a smooth workflow in a fast-paced environment. The work schedule includes day shifts from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm and night shifts from 5:30 pm to 2:00 am, with potential for mandatory overtime. The pay range for this position is between $25 to $28 per hour, depending on experience and shift, with weekly pay.
