About the position

The Electrical Engineer position involves a comprehensive understanding of applicable building codes and the construction process. The role requires the engineer to assign and review the work of the project design team, ensuring that progress is monitored and any changes in scope or additional services are communicated to the Project Manager. The engineer will also be responsible for reviewing contractor applications for payments, which necessitates a thorough understanding of the construction process and financial aspects of project management. In this role, the Electrical Engineer will coordinate all aspects of project document completion, both internally within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals. This includes preparing or reviewing construction budgets based on their experience and the specific scope of each project. The engineer is expected to promote the use of and participate in the development of company design and production standards, contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of project delivery. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer will assist in the education and development of design staff, acting as a resource for design-related questions. Maintaining a neat and organized work area is essential, as it allows for efficient access to project information required by other team members. The engineer will assess project requirements, break projects into manageable tasks, and collaborate with the Project Manager to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing needs. The role also involves writing the scope of work for electrical design based on preliminary reviews and meetings with clients.
