About the position

The Ford Advanced EV team is seeking an Electrical Engineer with expertise in printed circuit board design to contribute to the development of innovative electrical systems for upcoming vehicles. This role involves designing and implementing key electrical boards, ensuring their reliability, and integrating them into vehicle systems. The engineer will work closely with OEMs and other engineering teams to influence design decisions and execute the electrical architecture for new product features.

Responsibilities

• Design schematic and layout of key electrical boards.
• Provide guidance to OEMs on executing designs.
• Bring up and validate designs done in-house and at OEMs.
• Test designs for reliability and validity, implementing changes as needed.
• Create rapid prototypes using off-the-shelf parts to execute design vision.
• Understand trade-offs for velocity and mitigate risks impacting team progress.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams for system integration of electrical designs.
• Help define electrical architecture and execution.

Requirements

• Strong background in printed circuit board design including schematics and layout.
• Experience in bringing up designs and testing for reliability.
• Knowledge of DC to DC converters and high-speed digital signaling.
• Familiarity with common data buses such as I2C and SPI.
• Experience in analog circuit design.
• Portfolio of shipping products demonstrating specifications, schematic design, layout, bring up, and testing.
