About the position

LP Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at either our Roseville or San Rafael locations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in various project types, including financial services, office spaces, interior renovations, civic projects, education facilities, high-tech environments, mission-critical/data centers, and healthcare settings. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to ensure successful project delivery. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for performing essential engineering and design tasks to produce comprehensive construction documents in collaboration with a team of engineers and designers. You will help manage project scope, budget, and schedule to meet established goals. Your work will involve analyzing and designing complex building systems, including medium and low voltage power systems, lighting, grounding, process heating systems, standby generator and UPS systems for critical power needs, as well as fire alarm and communication systems. In addition to design responsibilities, you may assist senior engineers with site selection and design basis activities. You will exercise sound judgment in developing plans or alternatives and work closely with teams to ensure the quality of the plans. Field activities will also be part of your role, including observing construction activities and reviewing construction submittals for compliance with contract and design documents. You will be responsible for stamping and signing electrical plans, ensuring compliance with Title 24, and preparing related documentation. Coordination with local utility companies and documentation of energy efficiency measures for LEED, CHPS, and Savings By Design will also be required. Furthermore, you will have the ability to perform assessments of existing buildings, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform necessary engineering and design tasks to produce construction documents in conjunction with a team of engineers and designers.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering design of building electrical systems.
  • 7-10 years' experience in engineering design of building electrical systems preferred.
  • Professional Engineering License or path to obtain within one year of hire.
