About the position

As an Electrical Engineer at Plump Engineering, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing electrical systems for various projects. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and vendors to ensure that electrical designs meet technical specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. Your role will involve a combination of technical expertise and collaborative efforts to deliver high-quality electrical solutions that align with project goals and client expectations. Your responsibilities will include designing electrical systems for buildings, facilities, and infrastructure projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems. You will conduct electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies to optimize system performance and efficiency. Additionally, you will develop electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software. Collaboration with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders will be essential to integrate electrical designs with overall project requirements. You will also be responsible for reviewing and interpreting electrical codes, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance and safety. Performing site visits and inspections to assess electrical installations, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions will be part of your duties. Providing technical support during construction, commissioning, and testing phases of projects is crucial, as is keeping abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in electrical engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Proven experience in electrical design, analysis, and project management for commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software such as ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities effectively.
