About the position

Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C., a growing multi-disciplined engineering firm, is seeking a resourceful, self-motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer with the ability to provide high-level engineering services for a broad range of clientele. This position is primarily sought for locations in Pittsburgh, PA; Camp Hill, PA; State College, PA; Syracuse, NY; and Rochester, NY, but applications are also being accepted for B&L's other office locations in New York. The role offers excellent career growth and advancement potential for the selected individual. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 4-8 years of diverse consulting engineering experience on municipal, commercial, private, and/or industrial facilities projects. Candidates should possess acute analytical skills, the capability to design and manage small to large projects, and a comprehensive technical background across all facets of electrical engineering related to building and power distribution systems. Specific areas of expertise could include electrical service entrances, medium voltage power equipment, power distribution, electrical studies, emergency power, lighting design, alarm systems, telecommunications, and industrial process-related electrical. Excellent communication and writing skills are essential to accomplish synergistic interaction with both technical clients and co-worker/staff. Software capabilities must include the Microsoft Office platform, AutoCAD, and/or Revit. Technical capabilities must include a strong working knowledge of industry standards such as IEEE and NFPA as well as state building codes. Additionally, a broad familiarity with the work of other project team members, including architects and structural, mechanical, and civil engineers, is desired to allow for effective, integrated, and well-coordinated project design solutions. Desired soft skills include interfacing with internal and external clients, mentoring younger staff, and assistance with proposal development. This position will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop and manage dynamic, challenging projects that incorporate innovative and unique goals and objectives. Additional industry certifications, including Certified Energy Manager or LEED AP, are considered a plus. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in NY or PA (or eligibility to obtain) is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level engineering services for a broad range of clientele.
  • Design and manage small to large projects in electrical engineering.
  • Conduct electrical studies and design electrical service entrances.
  • Work on medium voltage power equipment and power distribution systems.
  • Design lighting systems and alarm systems for various projects.
  • Interface with internal and external clients to ensure project success.
  • Mentor younger staff and assist with proposal development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 4-8 years of diverse consulting engineering experience.
  • Acute analytical skills for project design and management.
  • Comprehensive technical background in electrical engineering related to building and power distribution systems.
