About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Jacobs involves utilizing extensive industry experience to address contemporary challenges in engineering. The role is hybrid, supporting the Fort Worth or Dallas, Texas office, and focuses on delivering innovative solutions through integrated building services design. Responsibilities include managing multiple projects, performing calculations for lighting systems, preparing load analyses, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
  • Prepare load analysis for different stages of design.
  • Prepare drawings detailing the system designed.
  • Prepare basis of design report for the project.
  • Prepare and document energy compliance calculations and forms.
  • Select equipment and fixtures for use in the building.
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License or ability to obtain within 6 months from hire.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a corporate engineering environment in an electrical engineering capacity.
  • Proficiency in Revit and 3D CADD is a plus.
  • Independent initiative, creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, and dedication to teamwork.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working on data center, power, generator systems, medium voltage distribution.
  • Familiarity with the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) design.
