About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Actalent involves creating and designing panel assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and control system schematics using AutoCAD. The role requires collaboration with mechanical design teams and providing technical support to electrical technicians. The engineer will also assist in testing components and systems, ensuring designs meet budget and time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Create and design panel assembly drawings with full wiring diagrams and control system schematics using AutoCAD.
• Assist in identifying problems with existing designs and recommend, implement and document approved changes.
• Coordinate efforts with the mechanical design team.
• Provide technical support for electrical technicians and assemblers.
• Assist test engineers in the component and bench testing.

Requirements

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical experience is a must.
• Experience developing complete control systems including panel assemblies and wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Ability to apply basic electrical engineering principles to design, fabricate, modify, enhance and evaluate moderately complex electrical and electro-mechanical systems for new and existing products within budget and time constraints under general direction from a lead engineer.
• Knowledge of PLC control systems and control panel design is helpful.
• Knowledge of CAD software (Autodesk, Product Design Suite), measuring devices, engineering lab equipment, and typical engineering office resources.
• Working knowledge of electrical codes (i.e. NEC, NFPA, UL508A) is desired.
