About the position

The Electrical Engineer 3 position involves planning, designing, developing, testing, and coordinating activities related to electrical and electronic components and systems. The role requires exercising judgment and applying standard engineering principles under the guidance of a supervisor or more experienced engineer. The engineer will be responsible for project execution, ensuring contract compliance, customer satisfaction, and financial returns for complex projects. The position emphasizes improving group effectiveness and customer satisfaction through various engineering duties.

Responsibilities

• Plan, support, and coordinate major project requirements and specifications.
• Develop detailed engineering documentation including Single Line Diagrams, Power System Studies, Network Diagrams, and Substation Layouts.
• Perform electrical system integration utilizing IEC 61850 and other industrial communication protocols.
• Maintain close contact with customers and project participants to identify and resolve issues and seek additional business opportunities.
• Manage project risks to avoid penalties and warranty repairs, ensuring timely contract completion and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 8 years of detailed design experience in electrical engineering.
• Professional engineering license is required.
• Direct engineering experience on projects with HV/MV/LV switchgear, motor controls, VFDs, transformers, and electrical SCADA systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience programming PLCs, protective relays, and other industrial automation devices.
