About the position

GovCIO is currently seeking an Electronics Engineer to join our team. This position is an onsite role that involves evaluating electrical systems, products, components, and applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting research programs while applying their knowledge of electricity and materials. The role requires designing electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for various purposes, including commercial, industrial, and domestic applications. Additionally, the engineer may analyze systems and processes, focusing on heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamic principles to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements. The Electronics Engineer will confirm the capabilities of systems and components by designing testing methods and evaluating their properties. Quality assurance is a critical aspect of this role, as the engineer will design electrical testing methods and test finished products and system capabilities to ensure they meet required standards. Proficiency in computer-assisted engineering software is essential, as the engineer will prepare and study technical drawings and perform detailed calculations necessary to complete projects. The role may also involve preparing product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information and trends. Formal electronics training is required, which includes skills in installation tasks, soldering, cable dressing, cable tray installation, conduit work, and making or repairing connectors. Responsibilities

  • Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs.
  • Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Analyzes systems and processes, including heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamic principles for energy efficiency improvements.
  • Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods and testing properties.
  • Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Operates computer-assisted engineering software, prepares and studies technical drawings, and performs detailed calculations to determine standards and specifications necessary to complete a project.
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Completes formal electronics training, including installation tasks, soldering, cable dressing, cable tray, conduit, and making/repairing connectors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience or commensurate experience.
  • Clearance required: Secret.
  • 5+ years of practical experience in electronics repair, maintenance, installation, and checkout.
  • 2 years of experience in supervision and shop practices.
  • 3 years of practical experience in electronics repair and installation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of a four-year electronics apprentice program.
