About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at LMI Aerospace involves direct support for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and the F/A-18 & EA-18G Fleet Support Team at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest. The role focuses on applying engineering principles to develop, design, and modify electrical and avionics systems for military aircraft, ensuring their operational effectiveness and compliance with technical directives.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering techniques to research, develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, or operate electrical and electronic systems for military weapon systems.
  • Develop engineering and Technical Directive (TD) change documentation including Rapid Action Maintenance Engineering Change (RAMEC) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP).
  • Create TD instructions for implementing changes or upgrades to Avionics and Electrical systems on F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft.
  • Provide support on all phases of Avionics and Electrical modification projects, including developing technical data packages and attending validations and verifications.
  • Document deficiencies and provide recommendations for system integration improvements.

Requirements

  • At least ten (10) years of hands-on experience in an engineering position.
  • BS degree in Engineering.
