About the position

Actalent is seeking a full-time Intermediate Architect to join their team in New York. This role is designed for individuals looking to advance their careers in engineering and architecture, with opportunities ranging from entry-level to experienced positions. The successful candidate will engage in various engineering tasks, including calculations, equipment selection, and design, while also benefiting from a supportive work environment that promotes skill development and career growth.

Responsibilities

• Conduct engineering calculations, load calculations, equipment selection, energy analysis, psychrometric analysis, controls, fixture loading, pressure loss, and duct sizing.
• Write specifications and manage time and budget to meet project deliverables and schedules.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to complete drawings.
• Calculate power and lighting loads for new and existing building systems.
• Review local and national codes and perform code analyses.
• Design life safety systems, including fire alarm systems.
• Select and design the layout of electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, electrical panels, emergency generators, UPS systems, and power distribution systems.

Requirements

• Intermediate experience in electrical engineering or architecture.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of local and national codes and ability to perform code analyses.
• Experience with data center and commercial projects.

Nice-to-haves

• LEED accreditation and Green Building initiatives preferred.
• Mission Critical experience is preferred.
• Commissioning experience is a plus.
• E.I.T or PE certification.
