About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Actalent involves developing hardware and software design solutions for electronic components related to vehicle functions and body controls, specifically for North American truck products. The role requires collaboration with global technology teams and Tier-1 suppliers, as well as participation in integration and troubleshooting activities.

Responsibilities

  • Release HW SW design solutions for electronic components in vehicle functions and body controls.
  • Collaborate with global technology development teams to track platform development progress.
  • Participate in discussions with Tier-1 suppliers of components.
  • Follow level 4 time plan activities and milestones.
  • Work with component installations for Body ECUs as needed.
  • Collaborate with the truck integration team to resolve component-related issues.
  • Respond to defect reports and follow the defect report process for resolution.
  • Document software configurations for various variant combinations and ensure compliance with the ESW SW release process.
  • Utilize Canalyzer tools to analyze log files and perform troubleshooting.
  • Download software using factory engineering service tools.
  • Perform minimum smoke tests on the bench before delivering to integration teams.
  • Participate in PI planning and break down features into stories and tasks, following up through sprints.
  • Work on trucks as needed to debug and troubleshoot issues.

Requirements

  • Experience in hardware and software design for electronic components in automotive applications.
  • Familiarity with vehicle functions and body controls.
  • Proficiency in using Canalyzer tools for log file analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to document software configurations and follow release processes.
  • Experience with factory engineering service tools for software downloads.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Tier-1 suppliers in the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of truck integration processes and troubleshooting techniques.
