About the position

The Electrical Engineer at AMET, Inc. is responsible for the specification, design, development, and implementation of control systems for automated welding systems. This role requires collaboration with a team of engineers and interaction with various departments to ensure project success and adherence to specifications. The position demands a high-energy, self-motivated individual who can work effectively under deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Specify, design, develop and test hardware/software for use in automated welding systems
• Perform integration of AMET developed controls and customer specified mechanical systems
• Collaborate with a team of electrical and mechanical engineers
• Attend weekly engineering group meetings and support project-related challenges
• Participate in internal project kickoff meetings, production meetings, and project review meetings
• Interface with project management, procurement, sales, and technical support teams
• Assist with system quality reviews throughout the build cycle
• Support final Q/A of systems for customer Factory Acceptance Testing
• Maintain professional relationships and appearance with customers
• Work well with ever-changing priorities and/or situations
• Travel domestically and internationally as required

Requirements

• Experience in electrical engineering with a focus on control systems
• Proficiency in hardware and software development for automated systems
• Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage project priorities and schedules
• Knowledge of contracts and project build requirements
• Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
