About the position

The Electrical Engineer at Actalent will play a crucial role in the programming and maintenance of the company's manufacturing equipment, focusing primarily on PLC programming using Ladder Logic. This position requires a strong understanding of SQL programming to facilitate the transfer of information into the ERP system, ensuring that data flows seamlessly between manufacturing processes and business operations. The engineer will be tasked with troubleshooting and resolving process and machine problems, which is essential for maintaining and improving manufacturing efficiencies and uptime. In addition to troubleshooting, the Electrical Engineer will collaborate closely with maintenance personnel to support plant systems as necessary. A key aspect of this role involves introducing new technology and automation into the manufacturing process, which will require the engineer to determine the functional requirements for new equipment and identify any upgrade requirements for existing equipment. The engineer will work with various manufacturing departments to define their needs and develop solutions, including the implementation of new equipment and upgrades to meet those requirements. Furthermore, the engineer will be responsible for developing specifications for equipment and line modifications or additions, ensuring that all changes align with the company's operational goals and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve process and machine problems to ensure and improve manufacturing efficiencies and uptime.
  • Work with maintenance personnel to support plant systems as necessary.
  • Introduce new technology and automation into the manufacturing process.
  • Determine the functional requirements for new equipment and identify upgrade requirements for existing equipment.
  • Work with various manufacturing departments to define needs and develop solutions, including implementation of new equipment and upgrades.
  • Develop specifications for equipment/line modifications and/or additions.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
  • Proficient with PLCs, specifically Rockwell products, and ladder logic programming.
  • Experience with HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces).
  • Knowledgeable in SQL programming.
