About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Actalent involves researching, designing, developing, modifying, evaluating, and testing various electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment, communications systems, and control and test equipment. This role is critical in supporting government contracts and requires independent judgment and problem-solving skills to address complex engineering challenges. The position is a 6-month contract to hire opportunity, offering a hybrid work environment with flexible scheduling options.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, modify, evaluate, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems.
  • Conduct experimental tests on equipment and evaluate results.
  • Develop specifications for selecting components and equipment to use.
  • Review vendors' abilities to support the project.
  • Establish operational objectives and assignments, reviewed by management to determine success of operation.
  • Develop, modify, and execute company policies affecting immediate operations and potentially company-wide.
  • Work on extremely complex problems requiring the evaluation of intangible variables.
  • Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Regularly interact with management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Change the thinking of or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.
  • Work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets.
  • Determine and pursue courses of action essential in obtaining desired outcomes.
  • Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
  • May manage and be responsible for staff development and supervision.
