Farnsworth Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Champaign, IL, as well as in our St. Louis, MO, Denver, CO, and Peoria offices. This position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about engineering and is eager to contribute to meaningful projects in various sectors, including industrial, oil and gas, advanced manufacturing, and renewable energy. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the full electrical design process, which encompasses power distribution, controls, renewable energy systems, medium voltage systems, substations, lighting, and communications. You will work collaboratively with a team of engineers, architects, surveyors, and scientists, all committed to making a positive impact through their work. In this role, you will assume multi-project responsibilities, engaging in code research and application, conducting fieldwork to ascertain existing conditions, and developing preliminary schematics through to final designs. You will also be responsible for calculations, equipment specifications, sizing, and layout, as well as coordinating with other production staff and engineering disciplines. Your duties will include the preparation of accurate electrical system construction drawings and specifications, submittal review, and construction administration. Additionally, you will conduct power systems studies and interface with clients and contractors, maintaining project design budgets and schedules while ensuring quality. A key aspect of this role is mentoring designers and drafters, fostering their professional growth and development. This position reports to an engineering manager who will provide mentoring and training opportunities for your professional advancement.
