About the position

As an Electrical Engineer at Quest Industrial, you will lead electrical design and pneumatic projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet the required specifications. This role involves collaborating with various teams and customers to develop innovative automation solutions in the packaging industry. You will utilize your technical expertise and communication skills to build strong relationships and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design/pneumatic projects and ensure they are completed on time and to appropriate specifications.
  • Size and specify electrical and pneumatic components.
  • Create electrical and pneumatic bill of materials for machines.
  • Determine critical system components, evaluate lead times, and find alternative component suppliers.
  • Work with controls engineers in designing electrical control systems.
  • Create and update schematics, panel layout, and machine documentation.
  • Assist electrical assembly and the programming department with the startup, testing, and debugging of machines.
  • Verify proper wiring and plumbing of components and assure that the controls standards are followed when requested.
  • Assist at customer site for machine start-up and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Provide support in machine troubleshooting for customers both in the field and on the telephone and update documentation in the service files as needed.
  • Assist in new and replacement product/component evaluations and improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-year degree in related field or minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical or pneumatic design, packaging experience preferred.
  • Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Ability to read technical journals and vendor literature.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills which includes presentation skills.
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word/Excel).
  • Ability to travel to customer sites for start-up support or to provide machine support on a limited basis.
  • Electrical CAD experience and experience in electrical circuit design.
  • Understanding of safety circuits and category classifications.
  • Experience with electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Experience with PLC, operator interface, and servo applications.
  • Understanding of machine controls and mechanical designs.
