About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at TJC and Associates involves working within a close-knit team to deliver high-quality engineering services focused on infrastructure improvements, particularly in water and wastewater treatment facilities. The role offers a dynamic opportunity to learn from experienced engineers while contributing to the design and evaluation of complex electrical systems. Responsibilities include preparing plans, specifications, and reports, as well as performing technical analyses and field data collection.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project planning, scoping, proposing, staffing, and coordinating technical activities of the team.
• Manage the budget, design, QA/QC, and production of moderately complex projects.
• Responsible for specific elements of projects, such as designing power systems for buildings or basins.
• Ensure overall engineering objectives are met and communicate progress effectively.
• Resolve operational issues and coordinate daily staff activities to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Participate in evaluating project staff performance and provide feedback.
• Prepare intermediate to complex drawings, design calculations, estimates, specifications, and reports.
• Collect technical data for analysis to perform electrical design tasks.
• Develop an understanding of electrical codes and software used in design.
• Prepare project deliverables incorporating client requirements and quality control standards.

Requirements

• 5 - 12 years of working experience in electrical engineering.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineer License (P.E.) in California.
• Electrical engineering experience related to the design of power, lighting, and control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or qualified to work in the U.S. without employer visa assistance.
