About the position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is seeking graduate electrical engineers to join our Planning and Studies team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in power systems and renewable energy projects. ECI has Planning groups located in Madison, WI, and Chesapeake, VA, and new graduates are expected to work onsite in either of these locations. As a new hire, you will be paired with an experienced ECI engineer who will assist with training and mentoring on our techniques and QA/QC processes to ensure your success. The position involves performing a variety of electrical studies using tools such as PSS/e, PSLF, ASPEN Oneliner, Cape, PSCAD, and EMTP-RV. While experience in these tools is not required, you will be expected to learn and apply them effectively. Many of the studies will be related to large-scale renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and energy storage, with capacities ranging from 50 to over 2000 MW. Our team supports customers from project conceptual development through design, equipment selection, and assistance with plant operating issues after commercial operation date (COD). In addition to renewable energy projects, we provide services to both large and small utility and industrial clients. The studies may involve typical transmission level load additions, long-range plans, generation interconnections, black start analysis, voltage unbalance/line transposition analysis, breaker TRV assessments, insulation coordination studies, and more. ECI also has a separate distribution planning group to handle specific distribution-related projects.
