As an Electrical Engineer in the Electrical/Combat Systems Division of the Supervisor of Shipbuilding Bath, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the technical integrity of naval ship systems. Your primary responsibility will be to resolve technical issues under the guidance of the SUPSHIP BATH Waterfront Chief Engineer. This involves reviewing, evaluating, and approving engineering data prepared by shipbuilders, government design agents, or subcontractors to ensure compliance with design specifications and sound electrical engineering practices. You will conduct thorough technical evaluations and investigations into project and process problems that arise during the design, construction, and overhaul of naval ships. In addition to technical evaluations, you will prepare various forms of documentation including correspondence, technical reports, memoranda, specification change notices, work instructions, contract field modification requests, and scope documents as required to complete project assignments. You will also be responsible for reviewing and evaluating changes to shipbuilding or ship repair specifications to assess their impact on system design, operation, construction schedules, and costs. Collaboration with other engineers will be essential to ensure comprehensive design development and ship construction, particularly in areas where responsibilities overlap between technical disciplines. Your role will also involve providing technical support to Quality Assurance Specialists and Managers within the Quality Assurance Directorate. You will identify and resolve issues that may arise during in-process inspections, tests, and trials, and evaluate the effectiveness of contractors' corrective actions. Furthermore, you will be tasked with providing technical solutions to expedite the incorporation of engineering changes and reviewing contractors' engineering products to ensure they meet the required standards.
