About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Shield AI involves developing advanced AI products for the Aircraft Division, specifically focusing on the VBAT aircraft. The role requires innovative thinking and collaboration with cross-functional teams to design and implement high-performance computing, sensing, communication, and power systems. The engineer will be responsible for circuit board and system designs, contributing to product features, and enhancing hardware development projects.

Responsibilities

• Own and contribute to circuit board and system designs for the VBAT and supporting equipment.
• Contribute to the design of specific product features while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Engage in schematic capture, modeling, simulation, analysis, verification, debugging, and release to production.
• Provide feedback on project schedule and deliverables.
• Participate in cross-functional design reviews.
• Collaborate closely with CAD engineering for PCB layout.
• Help develop automated test solutions.
• Identify opportunities for improvement within hardware development projects.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (or graduating in 2024).
• Experience as an electrical engineer through full-time roles, internships, co-ops, or engineering clubs.
• Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, and circuit testing.
• Demonstrated ownership over development processes and features with successful outcomes.
• Proven ability to ship products and navigate development cycles in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic, trustworthiness, and high standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with autonomous robotic systems.
• Background in fast-paced environments, particularly in startups or R&D settings.
