About the position

As an Electrical Engineering Intern at 1898 & Co., you will be responsible for performing tasks that require the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. This role involves engaging in the standard design of engineering systems, correcting and updating existing designs, and assisting lead engineers with various project duties. The specific assignments and project work will vary depending on the market segments, which include utilities, manufacturing, oil, gas and chemicals, ports, and government sectors. Your responsibilities will include assisting with tasks such as filing, scanning, data entry, and documentation, as well as creating PowerPoint presentations. You will also assist in responding to general questions and participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data. Presenting solutions to concerns and researching solutions to project issues will be key components of your role, along with analyzing and recommending solutions to problems. Additionally, you will assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers, ensuring compliance with all company policies and standards. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. You will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment while contributing to meaningful projects that support critical infrastructure industries. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited program.
  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in a post-secondary education or technical certificate program related to the work done in the department.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager learner with an aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
