About the position

The Engineering Intern position involves applying standard engineering techniques and procedures to assist in various engineering tasks. Interns will work closely with lead engineers on projects related to power generation technologies, including gas turbines, solar, batteries, hydrogen, carbon capture, and nuclear plant services. The role includes responsibilities such as data entry, documentation, and participation in continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, and documentation.
  • Help prepare PowerPoint presentations.
  • Respond to general questions as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Present solutions to project concerns.
  • Research and analyze solutions to project issues and recommend actions.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects assigned by managers.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in a post-secondary education or technical certificate program related to the department's work.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.

  • Involvement in campus or community activities preferred.
