Electrical Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

About the position

The Electrical Engineering Intern position at HDR, Inc. is designed for undergraduate or graduate students who are looking to gain practical experience in the field of electrical engineering. This full-time internship for Summer 2025 may also allow for part-time work in Spring 2025. Interns will assist the Electrical Engineering team in various tasks related to site studies, designs, and project permitting, while also engaging with company leaders and participating in mentoring programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Electrical Engineering team with site studies, site designs, overall site layout, grading, utility layout, and drainage.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring the application of standard techniques and procedures.
• Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
• Assist the project team with project permitting submittal requirements with applicable jurisdictions.
• Connect with recent college graduates and company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs.
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Attention to detail.
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Nice-to-haves

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry.
• Preference given to local candidate.
