About the position

The Intern position at Burns & McDonnell involves collaborating with various teams to support departmental functions and business strategies. The role includes assisting with administrative tasks, data analysis, and project support, providing a valuable opportunity for hands-on experience in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, and documentation.
  • Support the creation of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Respond to general inquiries and assist with information requests.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Present solutions to identified concerns.
  • Research and analyze project-related issues, recommending solutions.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in a post-secondary education or technical certificate program related to the department's work.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn, with an aptitude for growth in the field.

  • Involvement on campus or in community activities preferred.
