About the position

The Engineering Intern position involves applying standard engineering techniques and procedures to assist in various engineering tasks. Interns will work closely with lead engineers on projects related to electrical transmission and distribution systems, contributing to design, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with standard design of engineering systems and update designs as needed.
  • Support lead engineers with various project duties and tasks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Research and analyze solutions to project concerns and present recommendations.
  • Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, and documentation tasks.
  • Help respond to general questions and assist with ad hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in a post-secondary education or technical certificate program related to the department's work.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and self-motivation.

  • Involvement in campus or community activities preferred.
