About the position

The Electrical Engineering Manager at Bartelt Packaging is a working manager responsible for leading the Electrical Engineering Department. This role involves overseeing daily activities, ensuring design specifications are met, and delivering projects on time while achieving profit objectives. The manager will establish engineering standards, provide technical support, and coordinate resources across departments to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Electrical Engineering Department in daily activities.
  • Establish business goals and objectives within the department.
  • Develop and establish electrical engineering standards for design and Bill of Materials.
  • Supervise engineers and interface with documentation groups on deliverables.
  • Manage electrical engineering requirements for machine projects according to strategic directions.
  • Prioritize projects and manage the queuing of deliverables according to schedule.
  • Coordinate resources with other managers and departments as needed.
  • Implement ongoing technical training for Electrical Engineers.
  • Provide technical support on installations and schedule onsite resources.
  • Work with Product Managers and Sales to define project scopes and schedules.
  • Interface with project management during the build phase to ensure excellence in execution.
  • Advise manufacturing and service personnel on system operations and troubleshoot problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering application in the packaging industry.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Mastery of electrical engineering principles in high-speed packaging machinery application.
  • Experience with MS Office, ERP systems, AutoCAD, RSLogix5, 500 & Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View Studio ME.
  • Demonstrated ability to design equipment with electronic motion control.
  • Knowledge of industrial networks such as Ethernet I/P and Profibus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
