About the position

The Electrical Engineering Technician at NTN Driveshaft, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing of Constant Velocity Joints (CVJs) for major automotive companies. This position involves determining and developing equipment control systems, enhancing existing processes, and ensuring product quality through rigorous testing and evaluation. The technician will work closely with engineering teams to address process-related issues and contribute to the development of new products and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Determine equipment control systems, data acquisition systems, and vision systems necessary for production and assembly operations.
  • Develop new processes and equipment technology for new product designs and enhance existing process technology to improve quality and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Support product and application engineering with process-related issues.
  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and researching programs.
  • Confirm system and program capabilities through testing methods.
  • Develop electrical products by studying customer requirements and testing manufacturing methods and materials.
  • Modify manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for processing and assembling components.
  • Assure product quality through testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or relevant engineering-based field, or multiple years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience with PLC Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi).
  • Experience with vision systems (Keyence, Cognex) and robotics (Motoman, Fanuc).
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications and software (AutoCAD Electrical, Office, SQL).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with simulation software (e.g., MATLAB, SPICE) and CAD software for circuit design.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and electrical regulations (e.g., National Electrical Code, IEC standards).
