About the position

The Electrical Engineering Technician will assist in the design, build, integration, and operation of electronics and instrumentation systems, specifically for advanced tiltrotor aircraft applications in the defense and commercial transport sectors. This role involves close collaboration with a Harness Design Engineer to develop and test prototype electrical avionics systems, focusing on complex cable and wire harness components.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design, build, integration, and operation of electronics and instrumentation systems.
  • Partner with a Harness Design Engineer to build, assemble, and test prototype electrical avionics systems.
  • Work on electronic flight hardware assembly, rework, and modification.
  • Troubleshoot avionics systems and components.
  • Perform mechanical installations and test equipment development.
  • Handle electrical/electronic assembly using blueprints and schematics.
  • Build cables with commercial/military connectors.

Requirements

  • Experience with wire harnesses in aerospace defense and avionics electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in prototype or R&D cable and wire harness assembly.
  • Skilled in electronic flight hardware assembly, rework, and modification.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and avionics systems.
  • Experience with cable wire harness, PCB assembly, and soldering.
  • Familiarity with mechanical installations, test equipment, and test development.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and wiring schematics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Avionics component integration and installation.
  • Good soldering skills for SMT and through-hole components.
  • Experience building cables with commercial and military connectors.
