About The Position

AS&M is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to join the CMOE Team in Hampton, Virginia. This role involves supporting maintenance activities at NASA LaRC, focusing on root cause failure analysis, equipment lifecycle assessments, and field verification of electrical systems. The technician will ensure compliance with safety policies while maintaining high standards of quality in their work.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Two years of college with courses in engineering, mathematics, or science, and four years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling six years.
• Experience in operating and maintaining electrical distribution systems and/or control circuitry.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant military training or aviation maintenance training.
• Experience with high noise levels and hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance activities at NASA LaRC.
• Identify repeated causes of failure for root cause failure analysis.
• Conduct equipment lifecycle assessments including nameplate data verification and failure reporting.
• Perform field verification of electrical equipment and systems.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Follow safety policies and procedures, including OSHA Lockout/Tagout program.
