About the position

The Electrical Engineering Technician will work closely with Compliance Engineers to assist in product preparation and testing, interface with regulatory bodies for product certifications, and support the development of automated test systems. The role involves maintaining laboratory operations, including equipment setup and management, while ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and instrument test samples, execute tests, record, and analyze results on power electronics and battery storage systems.
  • Assist with testing at in-house and local contract laboratories.
  • Support the debug of products and sub-systems.
  • Support the build and test of automated test equipment and peripherals.
  • Rework prototypes and printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Carry out duties as defined by the engineers.

Requirements

  • Academic discipline in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years + of experience in an engineering development environment, with NEC NFPA 70 experience, previous lab environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, High Voltage/Power Electronics experience.
  • Strong soldering, electronics fabrication/prototyping, mechanical fabrication/prototyping skills, and wire harness skills.
  • Experience with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Multi-tasking skills, with the ability to self-prioritize.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3D CAD skills (preferred)
  • Experience in a regulatory role with a high degree of integrity and ethics.
