About the position

As a member of the Generator & Electrical Systems team at GE Gas Power, you will play a crucial role in the design and implementation of key electrical equipment and compartments that are integral to our power plants' control and electrical distribution systems. This position is focused on ensuring that the equipment allocated to various projects meets all necessary specifications and standards, thereby contributing to the advancement of cleaner and more efficient power solutions. You will be responsible for preparing functional specifications based on sizing studies, contracts, and applicable regulatory codes and standards. Your expertise will be essential in supporting supplier design evaluations and managing the technical offers provided by suppliers. In addition to overseeing project realization in collaboration with purchasing and quality functions, you will support site teams during the installation and commissioning phases of the equipment. A significant aspect of your role will involve leading the integration of electrical compartments, verifying their designs against building codes and standards, and conducting structural analyses. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems within the compartments are conceptually sound and properly calculated. Coordination with design engineers and equipment owners will be vital to execute project deliverables effectively, and you will review and approve both internal and external deliverables from team members. This position requires a strong foundation in electrical distribution systems, particularly in medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) AC distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), and DC-UPS distribution systems. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and reliability of our power generation capabilities, making this a pivotal role within the organization.
