As a New Grad Field Engineer - Electrical Testing I (Associate) at Shermco Industries, you will launch your career in the Electrical Services sector, focusing on power studies and optimizing electrical power systems. This entry-level position involves supporting senior engineers in system analysis, power distribution design, installations, maintenance tasks, and ensuring reliable power delivery. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with experienced field service engineers to provide on-site technical assistance for electrical systems, including installations and testing.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and inspections to guarantee the optimal performance and compliance of electrical equipment.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to diagnose technical issues and implement effective solutions, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
  • Engage with clients in a professional and customer-centric manner, addressing inquiries and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain detailed records of service activities, including service reports, client feedback, and necessary product modifications.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering and R&D, to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovative projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, Mechanical Engineering Degree, Associates Degree in Power distribution, or similar; Senior graduating no later than December 2024.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, testing procedures, and relevant industry standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients and collaborate with team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges efficiently.
  • A collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and a dynamic work environment.
  • Availability for frequent travel to customer sites for on-site support and service tasks as needed in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota.
