About the position

The Field Operations Manager oversees field employees and project operations, ensuring that divisional and company objectives are met through effective management and strategic planning. This role is crucial for maximizing operational results and maintaining high standards of quality and performance in electrical construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the production of fieldwork to meet budget constraints.
  • Manage multiple large-scale projects and analyze operations and employee performance.
  • Coach and manage performance of division field employees.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, including conducting interviews and onboarding new employees.
  • Ensure efficient project workforce planning.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to employees.
  • Develop and implement quality control methods.
  • Schedule training sessions for new and existing employees.
  • Set divisional goals and objectives and work with the team to achieve them.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous process improvement.
  • Maintain positive professional relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Serve as a technical field advisor to project supervision in difficult situations.
  • Participate in project turnover, kick-off, progress meetings, and post-meetings to ensure proper scheduling.
  • Monitor the overall quantity and quality of assigned project work.
  • Interpret and enforce policies and procedures for on-site operations.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of field supervisory experience in electrical construction or equivalent education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of electrical construction (technology, equipment, methods).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, supervisory, and planning skills.
  • Extensive experience/knowledge of electrical construction, design, finance, and management.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical operations for calculating labor, materials, and cost estimates.
  • Technical knowledge to write procedures and review documents on a technical level.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a minimum 12th-grade level.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Experience with AutoDesk, AccuBid, and Bluebeam
  • Journeyman or Master Electrical License
