About the position

The Electrical Field Service Engineer position is a critical role focused on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the company's machinery at customer locations. This position requires extensive travel throughout the United States and Canada, with occasional international travel. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing new machinery, which includes electrical wiring, system start-up, commissioning, and diagnosis. This role demands a proactive approach to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and on schedule, while also troubleshooting and resolving issues with existing equipment. In addition to technical skills, the Electrical Field Service Engineer will provide expert guidance and training to operators and maintenance teams on troubleshooting and equipment upkeep. Preventive maintenance, audits, and servicing on machinery are also key responsibilities of this role. The position is remote, but candidates must reside near a major airport to facilitate travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Install new machinery that requires electrical wiring, system start-up, commissioning, and diagnosis.
  • Lead projects to ensure they are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing equipment.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to operators and maintenance teams on troubleshooting and equipment upkeep.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, audits, and servicing on machinery.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least three years of experience in a similar electrical service or maintenance role.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical controls, wiring, PLCs, motors, and drives.
  • Competency with computer-based control systems and a basic understanding of networking.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in urgent situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer interaction.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across North America.
