About the position

The Electrical Field Service Engineer position is a critical role focused on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the company's machinery at various customer locations. In this role, you will take the lead on projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently and on schedule. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing equipment, providing expert guidance and training to operators and maintenance teams on how to effectively troubleshoot and maintain the machinery. Preventive maintenance, audits, and servicing of machinery will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all equipment remains in optimal working condition. Responsibilities

  • Install new machinery that requires electrical wiring, system start-up, commissioning, and diagnosis.
  • Take the lead to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing equipment.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to operators and maintenance teams on troubleshooting and equipment upkeep.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, audits, and servicing on machinery.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least three years of experience in a similar electrical service or maintenance role.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical controls, wiring, PLCs, motors, and drives.
  • Competency with computer-based control systems and a basic understanding of networking.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in urgent situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer interaction.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across North America.
