About the position

Leidos Defense Sector is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team in Huntsville, AL. This role focuses on creating innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, particularly in the design and integration of electrical systems for defense and commercial applications. Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and integrate solutions for electrical system designs.
• Focus on electrical design and integration for the Enduring Shield ground-based force protection system.
• Participate in the design of electrical architectures and integrated systems for various mission-critical systems including flight systems, sensors, ground vehicles, and space hardware.
• Conduct high-speed and mixed signal schematic design and simulation.
• Perform system-level electrical design including cable design specification and cable drawings.
• Engage in parts selection and derating activities.
• Conduct new PCB hardware design verification testing.
• Support system-level integration activities.
• Design and assemble Special Test Equipment (STE).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited institution with 8+ years of experience or 6+ years with a Master's degree.
• Working knowledge of digital/analog/mixed signal electronics, components, and communication standards.
• Experience in electronics design and test from architecture through implementation.
• Ability to perform in a collaborative engineering environment with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated experience in effective communication within a team environment.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods.
• Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess (or be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet eligibility to obtain one.
