About the position

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking an Electrical Hardware Design Engineering Intern to join a diverse team focused on creating innovative solutions for complex problems in the defense and aerospace sectors. This internship offers hands-on experience in electrical hardware design, particularly in the Space Sensors Electrical Engineering Group, where interns will engage in various design engineering activities, including the development and testing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in concept development and design engineering activities.
  • Implement and test printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
  • Engage in power supply, mixed-signal, FPGA, and microcontroller designs.
  • Participate in printed circuit board layout and signal integrity analysis.
  • Contribute to power distribution network design and technical trade studies.
  • Evaluate technology improvements under the guidance of a mentor.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Willingness to relocate to the San Diego, California area.
  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance.
