About the position

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking an Electrical Hardware Design Engineering Intern to join a diverse team focused on creating innovative solutions for complex problems in the defense and aerospace sectors. This internship offers hands-on experience in design engineering activities, including the development and testing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and opportunities for skill development in various engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in design engineering activities including concept development and implementation of PCBAs.
  • Test and evaluate printed circuit board assemblies including power supply, mixed-signal, FPGA, and microcontroller designs.
  • Engage in printed circuit board layout and signal integrity analysis.
  • Contribute to power distribution network design and technical trade studies.
  • Work closely with a mentor on tasks that enhance skills development and contribute to program goals.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Willingness to relocate to the San Diego, California area.
  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
